Don't let anxiety limit your life
Anxiety can affect anyone, more than 1in 4 adults will suffer from it at some time of their lives.
Anxiety limits lives in
so many ways - careers, relationships and health. It stops us doing things we would love to be able to do.
Medication
and drugs can limit some of the symptoms, counselling and the talking therapies can help you work through current issues,
but
rarely will these resolve the underlying problems.
CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) & NLP resolve the deep-rooted basis
of your anxiety and can change it for good,
often dramatically and more quickly than you imagine.
What is the difference between anxiety, anxiety disorders, anxiety syndrome, anxiety attacks, panic attacks, phobias or fears
?
None, they are just psychologist's labels for the same thing but in slightly different circumstances.
They are all
just an excessive and irrational feeling of fear that has been connected to a particular situation.
Anxiety is a learnt
pattern and you can unlearn it. You don't have to live with it.
Anxiety comes in many forms. Over the years I have
successfully helped clients overcome:-
Social Anxiety - a fear of acting in an embarrasing way in front of people, speaking in public, meeting people, eating in public, writing
in public, blushing etc. Social anxiety is usually much worse in front of opposite sex.
Sleep, nightmares and dreams
Specific
Phobias - an irrational fear or terror of everyday things such as sickness, spiders, needles, buttons, birds - it can be about anything.
Agoraphobia - feeling trapped, fear of open spaces,
crowds, flying and public transport. Claustrophobia.
Panic
Attacks - that may be specific or unpredictable
Stress - can easily lead to more serious anxiety.
Post Traumatic
Stress - when we have been through a frightening event the effects and fears carry over into similar situations and
we can suffer flashbacks.
Anxiety has uncomfortable and even frightening symptoms - Sweating, dizziness, difficult breathing and pounding
heart.
Anxiety can lead to physical problems such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, High Blood Pressure, Psoriasis, Exzema and
many allergies.
Anxiety can lead to emotional problems like eating and weight, anger, depression and OCD (Obssessive Compulsive
Disorder).
But, most important of all, anxiety is treatable ~ often more quickly than you imagine.
